Studio

The studio’s primary tracking room is situated in an area app. 21’x19’ in size with vaulted ceilings, plenty of natural light and a nice relaxed atmosphere. The room is acoustically treated with a variety of strategically placed absorptive panels, reflective surfaces and areas of diffusion. Many of these acoustic treatments are portable and can be moved about the room to address the current recording situations. Attached to the tracking room is a separate isolation area. This space is acoustically treated and well-damped, making it an ideal area to isolate amplifiers.
Shoeshine Studio
The studio operates with a ‘no control room’ setup. The recording gear and engineer, (ie. “me”), are situated within the tracking room. Though this is done partially out of necessity due to the nature of the space, it is also highly advantageous in many ways to the creative recording process. It allows for an interaction with the musicians and ultimately contributes to a smooth work flow and helps along the collaborative process of recording.
The room layout and the space are flexible and suited to accommodate a variety of recording situations.
